Donate Menstrual Hygiene Kits and Support Menstrual Health in Sri Lanka
Help women and girls access essential menstrual products, hygiene information and support.
Why Menstrual Health Support Matters
Menstruation is a natural part of life, yet many people who menstruate continue to face barriers to managing their periods safely, affordably and with dignity.
Menstrual health is more than access to sanitary products. It includes having accurate information about menstruation, access to appropriate menstrual hygiene materials, clean water and sanitation facilities, safe disposal options, and the freedom to manage menstruation without shame, stigma or discrimination.
In Sri Lanka, financial constraints, limited access to reliable information, inadequate facilities and social stigma can make menstrual health management more difficult, particularly for people living in underserved and vulnerable communities. Research supported by FPA Sri Lanka has highlighted challenges related to the affordability and accessibility of menstrual products, menstrual health knowledge and social attitudes towards menstruation.
When people cannot manage menstruation safely and comfortably, the consequences can extend beyond health and hygiene. Menstrual challenges can affect education, work, participation in community life, wellbeing and dignity.
Your support can help make menstrual health a matter of dignity, not disadvantage. By donating to FPA Sri Lanka, you can contribute to initiatives that promote access to menstrual health information and resources, challenge stigma and support more inclusive and period-friendly communities.

FPA Sri Lanka's Menstrual Health Work
FPA Sri Lanka works to promote menstrual health and hygiene as an important part of sexual and reproductive health, dignity and wellbeing.
Our work has included menstrual health education, community awareness, research, capacity building, advocacy and partnerships aimed at addressing period poverty and the barriers that menstruating individuals face.
Through the Collective Action Against Period Poverty (CAAPP) Project, implemented in partnership with the Embassy of France in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, FPA Sri Lanka worked with partner organisations to improve access to sustainable and affordable menstrual hygiene products, facilitate menstrual health education, address stigma and discrimination, strengthen access to water and sanitation, and promote more supportive social attitudes towards menstruation.
FPA Sri Lanka has also contributed to research on menstrual health and period poverty, supported training for healthcare workers and community organisations, and participated in national-level discussions and advocacy on menstrual health and hygiene.
The CAAPP Project concluded in 2026, but the need for continued investment in menstrual health remains. FPA Sri Lanka continues to contribute to conversations, partnerships and initiatives that promote informed, dignified and sustainable menstrual health management.
Your donation can help us continue this work and support a future where no one is held back by period poverty, stigma or lack of access to menstrual health information and resources.
